While visiting the Chelsea Flower Show in London a few years back, I came across one beautiful allium after another throughout the show. When I finally started asking about the unusual blooms, the Brits proudly reported that they were alliums "from California." What a surprise it was to see more California flowers blooming across the ocean rather than in our own backyards.
