Flower Show School – Red Bluff, CA
The Red Bluff Garden Club is sponsoring a National Garden Club Flower Show School in Red Bluff! Flower Show Schools are the avenue to certify judges for flower shows. However, one does not need to become a certified judge.  The school is a great opportunity to learn about horticulture and design for entries in flower shows, county or state fairs or other events. Anyone interested in learning more about this process is encouraged to join us! You do not need to be a garden club member to attend this school.  There are four courses scheduled over a 2-year period, but you do not need to commit to all the classes at this time.

Each course has three components: horticulture, design, and flower show procedure.
—–In horticulture, the science of cultivating plants, you will learn how to select, groom, and exhibit your plants and cut flowers for your own satisfaction as well as for flower show entries! Your acquired knowledge will help you enhance the plants, trees, and flowers in your own yard as well.
—–Do you have a desire to learn more about designs and flower arranging? The design curriculum will show designs from traditional, creative, table settings, to exploration/freedom of expression. You will learn and experience the verbiage of the Principles and Elements of Design while doing some practice judging of designs.
—–Flower Show Procedure is the third component of each course. Here you gain knowledge about how to run a flower show, the different types of shows, awards, and show requisites. You can learn more about what is required to receive that blue ribbon at a show!
