CGCI, PRGC, and NGC awards recognize outstanding accomplishments, meritorious achievements, creativity, and ingenuity in a variety of activities. The 2024 CGCI Awards Manual (see link below) describes awards and application procedures. The Manual can be downloaded, saved, and printed as needed.
 
The awards year is January 1 to December 31 (unless otherwise specified), and the youth contest year is January 1 to December 31.
 
Evaluation forms are no longer posted as separate documents.  All evaluation criteria and scoring guides are included in the 2024 Awards Manual.

MOST ENTRIES MUST BE SUBMITTED ELECTRONICALLYEXCEPTIONS: Youth Contests, Photography, Flower Arranger of the Year

  • Failure to meet the deadline will result in an automatic deduction of FIVE points.  Submission dates are stated in the description of each award in the manual and on each Evaluation Form
  • Most award entries are submitted with a CGCI Cover Sheet plus an Award Application (3 page maximum/front sides only). If there is no CGCI corresponding PRGC or NGC award, submit with a PRGC or NGC Application Cover Sheet.
  • Books of Evidence are required for Photography Award #41 CA Arboreta/Botanic Gardens and NGC and CGCI Flower Show Awards (NGC FS 1-21 & CGCI 30A & 30B)
  • Application – Most entries require an Award Application (one to three printed pages/front sides only) to describe the project. Applicants create their own award application — there is no form.

      • Consultant of the Year
  • CGCI participates in the Awards Program of National Garden Clubs Inc. (NGC) and the Pacific Region Garden Clubs, Inc. (PRGC).
  • This nationwide competition allows entrants from California to compete on a regional and national level against other garden clubs and garden club members throughout the United States.
  • All CGCI members in good standing are eligible to apply for NGC and PR awards unless otherwise stated in the award description.
  • The winning entries at the state level in selected categories such as yearbooks, newsletters, and flower show achievement awards will automatically be forwarded to PR and/or NGC.
  • If there is no comparable CGCI award, individuals, clubs or districts may submit entries to the CGCI Awards Chairman for Pacific Region Garden Clubs, Inc. and/or NGC as long as they meet the required deadline for submission and the criteria set forth in the Pacific Region and NGC Awards Manuals.   NO entries are to be submitted directly to PRGC or NGC by individuals, clubs or districts.
